8 – 17yrs Term Class ~ Classes have up to 5 students.
An opportunity for the young ones to learn the basics of sewing.
For the younger students…
I teach how to sew simple garments. They are able to set their own pace whilst receiving lots of instruction and guidance working towards a great end result.
I always tailor the teaching to individual learning styles. They learn all the basics of sewing along with using all the tools required to complete their project.
And of course, we have lots of fun along the way!
For the teens…
I am encouraging them to further develop their love for sewing and to bring out their creativity in their garments. They have opportunities to learn about pattern development to make their creations suit their individual style. These classes are often great support for those doing NCEA studies around textiles.
There may be a mix of younger sewists and teens in any one class. All work on their own individual projects.
All classes are 1 ½ hrs each week and are run during the school term. (Usually 10 weeks)
